Abdomen Surgery
Abdominoplasty and Lower Body Lift
This procedure is performed by a plastic surgeon, especially when there’s an excess of skin and fat below the navel or a weakening of the abdominal wall due to the separation of abdominal muscles. This often results from pregnancy and childbirth, during which the abdominal skin is subjected to significant pressure from the growing fetus, causing it to stretch, develop tiny scars that later turn whitish, and never fully disappear.
The elasticity of the skin decreases even further. Also, significant weight loss can lead to loose skin that accentuates with further weight loss and can’t be eliminated even with intensive exercise.
The extent of these irreversible changes varies from person to person.
Sometimes, the incision may need to be extended more to the sides, or it might even be combined with a lower body lift, where the incision goes around the entire waist.
Abdominoplasty can be combined with liposuction for a more pronounced effect. A new option is body contouring, highly recommended by our physicians.
Benefits of Abdominoplasty Surgery:
- Permanent removal of excess skin and fat in the abdominal area.
- Strengthening of the abdominal muscles and waist sculpting.
- Minimal risk of postoperative complications and the development of unsightly scars.
Procedure Overview:
The procedure, lasting approximately 2 hours, is performed under general anesthesia. An incision is made above the pubic mound in the lower abdomen, or it may follow the scar from a previous C-section. The incision is slightly extended to the sides to be concealed by underwear.
Abdominal plastic surgery involves loosening the skin and subcutaneous tissue up to the rib border. Excess skin is removed, and, if necessary, the separated rectus abdominal muscles are tightened.
Postoperative Care:
Bed rest for about 2 days is recommended to prevent embolism, and mild movement, such as taking a few steps several times a day, is advised. After this, the patient is discharged for home care. We recommend avoiding any physical exertion for at least 6 weeks. Regular outpatient check-ups follow.
Stitches around the navel are removed after about 14 days, while the remaining stitches are absorbable.
Price:
Starting from 60,000 CZK.
